Project Background:

Breedon’s Crime Rigg and Raisby Quarries were suffering from problems caused by water in the compressed air lines. Pneumatic vibrators on the silos were getting clogged by moist air, which was detrimental to the storage silos. Moisture can cause the silo to cave and collapse, forcing the site to replace the silo and its contents. Another pressing problem for several sites was the frequent disruption and failure of solenoid valves on bin doors, which affected the accuracy of the weighing systems. The workshop and production managers urgently needed a solution to improve the compressed air quality and stop the costly problems.

Before installing Expel, the team at Crime Rigg had considered purchasing a refrigerant dryer to help with the moisture problem.
