How Expel Works

Compressed air enters the unit following an engineered tortuous route down the filtration assembly (the outside of the filter). The angled vanes affect the flow and direction of the compressed air, creating multiple eddy currents.

The eddy currents force liquid water, oil emulsion fluids, and solid particulates to coalesce against the filter bowl. Gravity and airspeed force the circulating contaminants to exit through the drain port at the filter's base.

The air is then forced upwards through the middle of the internal element. Any remaining contaminants coalesce together and fall out through the base of the bowl under a gravitational force.
